Experience

William Godfrey is a Director at Holsinger, with over 14 years of public accounting experience. His responsibilities with Holsinger include quality control, firm inspections, training, supervision of staff, management of field-audits, compliance testing, report writing, risk assessment, and the communication of financial statements under US GAAP and various special purpose frameworks. His well-rounded proficiency in audit includes private organizations, non-profit, single audits, and grant specific audits. In addition to his attestation experience, William has an entrepreneurial spirit and passion to help non-profit, for-profit, and business leaders steward their resources to enable growth and transformational change.

His well-rounded proficiency in audit includes voluntary health & welfare, franchise accounting, mining & development, power generation, energy brokering, aviation, technology data centers, and real estate development. He also has years of experience providing client services to private schools, plan administrators of employee benefit plans, and organizations that provide community development.

Prior to joining Holsinger, William worked with a regional CPA firm performing fieldwork, preparing audit reports, and administering control testing. His previous experience also includes a position as an Engineer Inspector journalizing construction activity inspections and analyzing construction total quality management via PUB 408. A former member of the Geek Squad Team, he also has experience in product sales and computer technical support.

William holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania where he was a member of the Dean’s List and two-year Captain of the soccer team. He was the recipient of the Geneva College Soccer Scholarship, Academic Recognition Scholarship, and the Gordon Scholarship. He also received AMC All-American Honorable Mention.
